Small knows that abandoned properties are an eyesore, that can attract a certain undesirable element.

Further, abandoned properties can also bring home values down in the City of Atlantic City.

 Small Proactively Sought Out A State Grant To Help Address The Abandoned Property Issue

Small has confirmed that Atlantic City has been selected as one of only two New Jersey municipalities to receive a $30,000 Abandoned Property Rehabilitation Act Scholarship from the Center for Community Progress.

What Does This Mean For The City of Atlantic City

Up to 125 hours of expert assistance to help identify and address vacant, abandoned and deteriorated properties, said Mayor Small.

The Grant Will Provide For:

• Guidance on tools that can help move problem properties toward rehabilitation and redevelopment.
• Assistance strengthening the city's vacant
• property list and enforcement strategies.
• A two-day site visit and recommendations tailored to Atlantic City.
• Opportunities for city representatives to attend the national Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference.
