Atlantic City, NJ Homeless Area Right Near Borgata Casino
Atlantic City, New Jersey Councilwoman LaToya Dunston has learned about the existence of a homeless camp that is located in an overgrown area … located near the Borgata Casino, Brigantine Homes and the Stanley Holmes Village Apartments.
A citizen alerted Dunston to this situation and she has taken immediate action to try and help those in need.
The Atlantic City Police, Dunston and others are presently in the area, assessing the situation and trying to help the underserved citizens … who currently call this camp their home.
There are a number of structures that have been constructed in the area.
Dunston provided us with this series of photos (taken earlier today), which illustrate what the area looks like today.
Atlantic City is presently dealing with a significant homeless problem, as many surrounding cities and states send their underserved citizens with one-way bus tickets to Atlantic City.
The social services program benefits that are administered by the County of Atlantic are distributed in a highly professional manner.
Dunston has had a busy day, as an Atlantic City resident had all of their weekly groceries stolen from their doorstep. Dunstan is working to help replace this families weekly food necessities.
Dunstan has shown both leadership and compassion today.
