Last week, United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew, NJ-R-2 announced that the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development would be formally taking over the Atlantic City Housing Authority.

Congressman Van Drew has spent countless hours, over many years to deliver the much-needed federal takeover of the Atlantic City Housing Authority.

The abject failure of this public agency is a direct resort of Marty Small and his executive decision-making.

The special meeting is allegedly being held so that the Atlantic City Housing Authority can formulate its response to the federal HUD.

Their response will be received as too little, too late.

The United States federal government has given the Atlantic City Housing Authority many years to address the significant and numerous deficiencies.

Acceptable progress has not been made.

The federal takeover of the Atlantic City Housing Authority is long overdue.
