
Atlantic City, NJ, Man is Sentenced on Fentanyl Charges
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that an Atlantic City, New Jersey man has been sentenced to prison for fentanyl charges.
Earlier this week, Kenneth Thompson, 26 years old, from Atlantic City pleaded guilty to second-degree possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute.
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Thompson was sentenced to (an aggregate term of) five years in New Jersey State Prison.
About this successful prosecution, The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said that:
“On November 18, 2023, the Atlantic City Police Department conducted a stop of a motor vehicle driven by Thompson. A narcotics-sniffing canine positively identified to the odor of illegal narcotics. Following his arrest, Thompson was searched and the police recovered 200 folds wax containing fentanyl and $165.00. Through surveillance footage, police learned that Thompson had exited his sister's apartment prior to the motor vehicle stop. A search of that apartment led to the recovery of approximately 1,175 wax folds in a closet,” said The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Additionally. Thompson was also sentenced to a five-year prison term (which will be served on a concurrent basis) on a separate indictment prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
