Atlantic City, NJ Mayor is Indicted & Also The Director of Police
Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury on serious criminal charges including:
- second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
- third-degree Terroristic Threats,
- third-degree Aggravated Assault.
However, somehow Small still remains as the director of public safety for the City of Atlantic City.
This does not compute.
I firmly believe in the presumption of innocence, however, it only stands to reason that you can’t face criminal child abuse charges and remain as the Director of the police department at the same time.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy made his first-ever public comment about the Marty Small criminal charges yesterday.
The always elegant Governor Murphy simply stated that Small should reflect on whether “he can be effective in his position” while facing these criminal charges.
By comparison, Small was a finance committee member for New Jersey Gubernatorial candidate Steve Fulop.
That is no longer the case as Fulop has disassociated himself with Small.
Fulop had to cut ties with Small because it’s untenable for Fulop to keep someone on his team that is criminally charged with child abuse, terroristic, threats, and aggravated assault offenses on your team.
Marty Smalls’ wife (La’Quetta Small) was also indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for “second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.”
it remains beyond comprehension that La’Quetta Small has not been suspended from position as Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools.
The Atlantic City Board of Education is controlled by Marty Small. They have failed to do their job.
Atlantic City is under complete takeover status with the state of New Jersey.
It is now the duty of the state of New Jersey to take appropriate action regarding Marty and La'Quetta Small.
