The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male and a 34-year-old man, while also taking two illegal firearms off of the streets of Atlantic City.

In separate incidents, The Atlantic City Police Department has released the following regarding the two cases:

On September 11, 2024, at 9:45 PM, patrol officers responded to the first block of south lowa Avenue in reference to dispute involving a bicycle and possession of a handgun. Officer Aidan Richardson learned that a dispute between a woman and 17-year-old male began when the juvenile accused the woman of stealing a bicycle. The juvenile then showed the woman a handgun and threatened her.

Shortly after, the juvenile returned to the area and was detained by officers. The juvenile was found in possession of a loaded handgun, 28 individual bags of heroin, and a small amount of cocaine. There was no evidence of a stolen bicycle.

 

In a second incident, on September 12, 2024, at 12:04 a.m., Atlantic City Police Officer Moustafa Maarouf made a motor vehicle stop (of Isaiah Cooper).

Officer Maarouf observed drug paraphernalia, the kind that is used for distribution purposes.

A narcotics K9 Officer, Robert Reynolds and his K9 partner, Carlo were called-in to directly assist. K9 Carlo is trained in the detection of narcotics, and detected the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

During a police search of the vehicle, officers discovered:

A loaded handgun.

Additional paraphernalia containing narcotic residue.

Cooper was arrested and the Atlantic City Police also determined that Cooper had an active warrant.

ARRESTED: A 17-year-old juvenile male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful pur-pose, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a large capacity magazine, terroristic threats, and possession of CDS (two counts).

The male was taken to Family Court to be remanded to a juvenile detention facility.

ARRESTED: Isaiah Cooper, 34, of Pleas-antville, NJ.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Cooper is presently at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
