Atlantic City, New Jersey has a lot of major problems these days.

However, Atlantic City always comes through when one of their own needs help.

Word has emerged that the father of an Atlantic City Police Officer has been diagnosed with a major health issue.

Now, the Atlantic City community is rallying together to help Michael Imbrenda, who has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Here is Michael Imbrenda:

In a GoFundMe.com fundraising campaign, organized by Angela Dieckman … she writes:

Family, friends and community members, In January our outgoing, friendly and loving Michael Imbrenda was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. ALS is a debilitating neuromuscular waisting disease that gets worse over time. While there is no cure, we hope that with your help we can provide support to Michael and his family as they navigate the challenges of this devastating disease and bring him as much comfort to his life as possible, wrote Dieckman.

We learned about this from the Atlantic City Professional Firefighters NJ FMBA Local 8, who wrote on their Facebook page:

“Please consider helping one of ACPD's Officers dad who has a long road ahead of him. He could use all the support possible.”

The Atlantic City Professional Firefighters also shared an event flyer for an upcoming fundraiser, which reads:

Saturday, April 13, 2024, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Family & friends are joining forces to support Michael during his courageous battle against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. ALS is a debilitating neuromuscular wasting disease that gets worse over time. While there is no cure, we hope that with your help, we can provide support to Mike and his family as they navigate the challenges of this devastating disease and bring as much comfort to his life as possible.
