Atlantic City, New Jersey Board of Education member-elect Ron Bailey believes that he is a victim of political retaliation at the hands of the Mayor Marty Small administration.

We had a wide-ranging off-air discussion with Bailey about his desire to be a participant in the recent City of Atlantic City Holiday Parade.

Here is the verbatim transcript of Bailey’s allegations, along with various documents that Bailey has provided to back-up his allegations.

“On 12/6/24, the City of Atlantic City posted on its facebook that it was going to be notifying all participants for the parade with their position for lineup, however prior to seeing this post I had sent an email to the special events email inquiring as to the status of my registration and where I was going to be in the lineup for the event, to my surprise I received no follow up nor was I ever notified by anyone from the city regarding the parade,” said Bailey.

“I went up to the check in point of the parade on 12/7 and approached someone from the city who had a list of the line up and explained i had registered for the parade and was trying to determine where i was in the line up, I was told I was not included on the line up for the parade and it was left at that. today (12/11) I was sent an email from the special events office with nothing but excuses claiming that they were unable to accomodate any others in the parade and that there was no one in the office to respond to my email and it had not been seen until today, I find it hard to believe that the parade was ever at capacity when the mayor claimed that he wanted this to be the biggest parade in Atlantic City,” said Bailey.

“I am attaching to this email proof of the registration along with the email that was received from the city confirming receipt and a list of the parade participants that was sent to me, I have reason to believe that this was nothing more than another attempt to zero me out and another attempt to retaliate against me, unfortunately I will not allow this to distract me from my goals and job i was elected to do on the school board, this practice of retaliating against people for speaking out needs to stop,” said Bailey.
