Atlantic City Police Investigating Weekend Stabbing, Shooting
It was another busy weekend for the Atlantic City Police Department.
Just before 1AM Sunday morning, ACPD officers on patrol on Atlantic Avenue were flagged-down by a 49-year-old man from the city who was bleeding from a stab wound. Through an investigation, the stabbing suspect was identified as 46-year-old Javier Urena-Polanco of Atlantic City, who was arrested by officers several blocks away. The victim was transported to ARMC-City for treatment; Urena-Polanco is now facing several charges including aggravated assault.
Later Sunday, around 11PM, ACPD officers responded to the beach block of Ocean Avenue after receiving a call about a man who was shot in the hand. When they arrived, they found 26-year-old Alexander Botchway of the city suffering from a gunshot wound. Botchway was taken to ARMC-City for treatment and was released.
