Atlantic City, New Jersey, Woman Indicted For Fatal Car Crash

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that an Atlantic City, New Jersey woman has been indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

The Accused

Taniya R. Deal, 20 years old, from Atlantic City, New I Jersey NJ, was indicted for:

second-degree Vehicular Homicide.
third-degree Assault by Automobile.

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Has Released The Following:

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 11:56 a.m., Deal was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Tilton Road in Hamilton Township, NJ. Deal's vehicle crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle driven by Stephen Bouchard, 66, from Egg Harbor City, NJ, head on. Deal's front seat passenger, Shayniyah Reynolds, 31, from Atlantic City died as a result of the crash and Bouchard was seriously injured. Subsequent investigation revealed Deal had various narcotics in her system at the time of the crash, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

This fatal crash investigation was a collaboration between the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office (Crash Investigations Unit) and the Hamilton Township Police Department.
