Tony’s Baltimore Grill In Atlantic City, NJ, Consistently Delivers
We had a great meal at Tony’s Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City, New Jersey, earlier this week.
Tony’s Baltimore Grill

Tony’s Baltimore Grill first opened in Atlantic City in 1927, by Joseph Tarsitano, who was originally from Philadelphia.
It was called Baltimore Grill and it was located at 604 Atlantic Avenue. The menu featured pasta and excellent fried seafood — Baltimore seafood hence the name of the restaurant).
The First “Tomato Pie”

I have never been able to confirm this for sure — however, local legend says that Joseph's son, Tony, was called to the kitchen to help his father.
It was Tony who began to serve what was called “tomato pie.”
This is the precursor to the long-standing, world-famous 12-inch pizza.
The above pizza is my actual sausage pizza from this past Friday. It was delicious and perfectly prepared.
More History About The Baltimore Grille

When Joseph died, his brother John took over ownership and management of the restaurant.
Tony was busy faithfully serving in World War II and, following his honorable discharge, Tony and his two younger brothers, Dominic and Lou, purchased the restaurant from their uncle John and renamed it Tony's Baltimore Grill.
Tony’s Baltimore Grill

In December 1964, Tony (Anthony Tarsitano) and William "Ricky" Rich bought Paddy McGahn's Cafe and Musical Bar and they converted it to the present-day Tony's Baltimore Grill. They officially opened April 1, 1965.
It’s been there ever since — for the past more than 61 years.
We have Been Tony’s Baltimore Grill Clients Since 1979

What we love the most is that very little has changed over the past nearly 50 years for us. Tony’s is consistent and you know exactly what you’re going to get each and every time.
Here are recent meals that we have had (directly below) — it is basically unchanged, which we love.
The newest owners are Ronald Nolan Aspell and his wife Julie are the new owners. Officially, Julie is the owner.
They have been so smart to keep things the same.
