In the matter of Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA) Chairman John Devlin and the City of Atlantic City, we can provide you with the following breaking news update.

We have learned and confirmed that New Jersey Superior Court Judge James Savio has granted Devlin a two-week stay … which will temporarily prevent the City of Atlantic City from pursuing any formal action to potentially remove Devlin from the AC MUA Board.

Devlin Attorney David Castellani requested Judge Savio to throw the entire matter out.

Judge Savio confirmed that it was too early in the process for him to dismiss the matter.

Before the end of the two week stay, it is likely that Castellani will request that Judge Savio extend the stay further.

As was the case when we announced the news of Devlin’s lawsuit against The City of Atlantic City, Small, City Council, the MUA and more … We have obtained the only public comments from Devlin, following this morning’s hearing before Judge Savio.

The judge (Savio) obviously saw the validity in our argument and granted us the relief that we needed so we could properly dispute the frivolous allegations brought forward against me, said Devlin.

As an Atlantic City Board of Education Member, Devlin did not support Mayor Small’s wife, Dr. La ‘Quetta Small to be promoted Superintendent of the Atlantic City Public Schools System.

Devlin is arguing that this is a case of political retribution by Small and others.
