Atlantic County Commissioner Takes Verbal Swipe At Republicans
In Sir Isaac Newton’s famous quote in his Third Law of Motion, he said in 1686 “that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
336 years later, this lesson still holds true in Atlantic County, New Jersey politics.
First, here’s the action. Atlantic County Commissioner Caren Fitzpatrick fired this verbal shot across the political bow.
Fitzpatrick wrote her Tweet in response to an Atlantic County Republican event that is taking place today, Friday, July 29, 2022 at Don Purdy’s restaurant, “Purdy’s Grill” in Galloway Township.
Purdy is the hard-charging, Atlantic County Republican Party Chairman.
Here is the social media posting about the event, which is being held at Purdy’s restaurant.
In fairness to Atlantic County Republican Party Chairman Don Purdy and those involved with today’s event, there is no connection to this event whatsoever and the abortion issue.
The meeting agenda clearly states that is about the United States Supreme Court decision involving the second amendment to The Constitution regarding the right to bear arms.
Now, for the equal and opposite reaction by Purdy. Here is Purdy’s response to Fitzpatrick.
Commissioner Fitzpatrick has shared tweets comparing American law enforcement to Nazis and publicly expressed her support for Defunding the Police, dismantling Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and closing prisons, so is it really any surprise that honest, hard working, law abiding, Atlantic County residents want to take advantage of their 2nd Amendment Right to defend themselves and their families? Our doors will always be open to good people and organizations whether this KAREN likes it or not.
Purdy also addressed his assessment of Fitzpatrick’s standing, heading into her re-election bid saying:
”I hope she enjoys the little time she has left on the Atlantic County Board of Commissioners. There are more people than ever switching over to a Republican party … they are leaving the Democratic Party to go Republican or independent and it’s because of commissioners like Karen,” said Purdy.
Fitzpatrick said that she has never supported the defund the police movement.
