It’s a busy weekend for both the Republican and Democratic Party’s in Atlantic County, New Jersey.

The Atlantic County Republicans have officially nominated their slate of candidates for the November 7, 2023 General Election.

The Atlantic County Republican Party Convention was held at the Linwood Country.

The Democrats will announce their slate of candidates on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

The Atlantic County Democratic Convention will be held at the Seaview Hotel, in Galloway Township, New Jersey.

There has been some local fodder about the fact that the Atlantic County Democrats are charging a fee of $ 40 to attend their annual convention.

Atlantic County Democratic Convention registration is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. tomorrow.

For the Democrats, there will be a program and lunch that will begin at 2:00 p.m. They are providing a cash bar from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m.

All Democratic delegates must be in attendance in order to vote at the Atlantic County Democratic Convention.

By direct comparison, the Atlantic County Republicans do not charge a fee to attend their annual convention.

We caught up with Atlantic County Republican Chairman Don Purdy, who said:

“We have just nominated the strongest and most united ticket in Atlantic County history,” said Purdy.

The Atlantic County Republicans pursuit of unity appears to have paid significant dividends, as it has created an environment whereby no contested June Primary elections are anticipated.

Purdy also advised that Atlantic County Clerk Joe Giralo is the 2023 Republican of the Year "Seashell Award" recipient.

”No one works harder than Joe Giralo,” said Purdy .

On the Democratic side, they’ve been forced to go right down to the wire and are having significant challenges this year to field a complete ticket.

We forecast that by tomorrow evening, the Democrats will have selected and nominated a full slate of candidates.
