The Atlantic County, New Jersey Sheriff’s Department, under the direction and leadership of Joe O’Donoghue, has been the most active and effective since the legendary Sheriff Gerard Gormley.

We have received word of their latest success, with the capture of one of their “Most Wanted.”

Atlantic County Under Sheriff Mario Suarez and Sheriff O’Donoghue have just released the following:

CAPTURED: Sheriff Joseph O'Donoghue announced the arrest of one of Atlantic County's MOST WANTED Stephen Mays on FAILURE TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT in the amount of $415,025.15. (You read that correctly!). Mr. Mays was arrested in Atlantic City by Sheriff's Officer V. Esher and Officer K. Bordonoe. This is one of the highest outstanding CHILD SUPPORT amounts to date! LET THIS BE YOUR WARNING, if you owe CHILD SUPPORT pay up now or we are coming for you!

More arrests have taken place this week and we will release those upon receipt.

This has been an important area of focus for O’Donoghue, because it directly affects (mostly) Mother’s and children, who are owed financial support.

The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department has returned to its core functions as a law enforcement agency.

Last week, the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department took back the law enforcement responsibilities at the Atlantic County Courthouse.

For inexplicable reasons, this core function was farmed-out to outside contractors.

For generations, the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department has taken great pride in being the police department for the Atlantic County Court system.

This was a back to the future course correction that was long overdue.

Developing, because the story continues … as their hard work is never done.
