Atlantic County, NJ, Executive Explosive Letter Versus GOP Chairman
Atlantic County, New Jersey Executive Dennis Levinson has written a letter which includes accusations against GOP Chairman Don Purdy.
Levinson’s Letter Is Written In The Form Of A Thank You Letter To The Atlantic County Commissioners
Levinson thanked the board for voting in favor of expanding the Atlantic County Utilities Authority landfill.
I have obtained a copy of the letter and the entire Levinson letter is provided below.
Levinson Accuses Purdy
- Levinson says that Purdy was trying to bully the Atlantic County Commissioners.
- Levinson accuses Purdy with “threats to withhold campaign funding and support in Absecon.”
Things Had Quieted Down As Of Late …
A nasty political feud between Republicans Levinson, Purdy and Senator Vince Polistina had gone on previously for an extended period of time.
Polistina has been focused on representing District 2 and he has not spent any time furthering a disruptive, unproductive internal feud.
For the past few months, the public accusations had mostly stopped … until now.

Further Regarding The Levinson Letter
We have been told that there is a text message thread, whereby Purdy allegedly advises Republican County Commissioners that “After what I just heard about your meeting, I think you guys need to run your own county campaign this year. I am stepping out.”
Absecon Councilman Nick LaRotonda
Supported tabling this matter for further study because of its impact to Absecon.
LaRotonda was not pleased with the County action and said at the time that: “You should all be ashamed of yourself and don’t ask Absecon to come knock on doors for you.”
Atlantic County Republican Party Must Unite
Unless the infighting stops, this could prove to be a very challenging year for the Atlantic County Republican Party, as the national midterm election cycle already promises to be difficult.
