There is a false perception that has taken root since the November 4, 2025 General Election that Atlantic County Republicans performed poorly.

It’s simply not true and we’ll let the actual results speak for themselves.

You Must Remember What Atlantic County Republicans Were Facing

Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill throttled Jack Ciattarelli by more than 600,000 votes.

The top of the Republican ticket provided no help or cover down ballot.

Sherrill defeated Ciattarelli comfortably in Atlantic County.

This one loss has largely created the impression that Republicans performed poorly.

It was a terrible, razor thin loss by less than 500 or so votes.

Swift has been a great New Jersey legislator and I hope that she decides to run for re-election in less than 2 years.

George Tibbitt Lost For Atlantic County Commissioner In District 1

This was the race for the former Atlantic County Commissioner seat (long) held by the late Ernest Coursey.

It was basically “Gerry Mandered” to be a Democrat seat … so, there is no surprise here whatsoever.

Ken LeFevre Election Analysis

LeFevre does a great job following every election. He breaks down every race and creates a grid of how many races were won by the Atlantic County Republicans and Democrats.

See below, here is Ken LeFevre’s 2015 election analysis.

Ken Fevre’s analysis tells the whole story in one glance.

Republicans Actually Won Big

When you look only at the actual results, Republicans won 67 percent of all races involving candidates who ran in Atlantic County.

By comparison, Democrats only won 37 percent of the races in Atlantic County.

Atlantic County Republicans won 37 races. Democrats won only 18 races and 6 of those were in Atlantic City, 1 Assembly seat and 1 County Commissioner seat.

Republicans won the other Assembly seat and 2 County Commissioner seats.

Democrats Local Wins

Democrats did win 2 seats in Galloway Township, while Republicans also won  2 seats.

A Democrat won the first seat on the Egg Harbor Township Committee in more than 30 years.

Democrats also won 2 out of 3 Committee seats in Hamilton Township. A Republican won 1 seat in Hamilton Township.

Local Republicans Swept Races

In Buena Borough, Buena Vista Township, Corbin City, Estell Manor, Folsom, Hammonton, Linwood, Northfield, Port Republic and Weymouth Township.

Republicans won 2 out of 3 races in Mullica Township and Somers Point.

Senator Vince Polistina & Atlantic County Republican Chairman Don Purdy

Rather than criticize them, the truth is that their competent leadership directly resulted in Republicans not losing both Assembly seats and other races.

The top of the ticket was the worst performance in New Jersey history.

Yet, Atlantic County won almost 7 out of every 10 elections this past November 4, 2025.

My Conclusion

When you remove emotion and only look dispassionately at the actual election results … the Atlantic County Republicans delivered a winning performance in the worst environment for a Republican in New Jersey history.
