Atlantic County, New Jersey Sheriff Joe O'Donoghue has received important recognition from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

The award recognizes O'Donoghue for his exceptional collaboration, leadership, and steadfast commitment to strengthening our community, and for helping advance a safe, more connected Atlantic County, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

When we work together, communicate with one another, and put the safety of our residents first, our entire county becomes stronger. Thank you to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and Prosecutor William E. Reynolds for this meaningful recognition, said O'Donoghue.

O'Donoghue Accepts Award On Behalf Of His Team

O'Donoghue believes that the award is not for one person, rather, in direct recognition of the team that he has built at the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department.

O'Donoghue Has Won Several Major Honors During his Lifetime

O'Donoghue has also been awarded Medal of Valor, Combat Cross and Life-Saving Award during his approximately 50-year career in law enforcement, including:
- Atlantic County Sheriff's Department.
- Hamilton Township, New Jersey Police Department.
- Mullica Township Police Department.
- 12 years as Sergeant of Arms with the New Jersey Superior Court System.
- O'Donoghue became Atlantic County Sheriff after being elected in 2023.
