O’Donoghue has been the Atlantic County Sheriff for the past 31 months. His presence and his operating philosophy of law enforcement have been felt.
Over the past 31 months, we have worked hard to transform the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office and restore its focus on its core mission of law enforcement and public safety.
We have expanded our patrol operations, established new patrol divisions, taken back security responsibilities for the Central Municipal Court, and put more Sheriff's Officers out in communities throughout Atlantic County. You are seeing your Sheriff's Office working where it belongs-in the field, serving the people, said O’Donoghue.

Over the past 31 months, our officers have completed an extensive amount of advanced training and earned specialized certifications. Beginning in the coming days, we will be highlighting that training and those accomplishments so that the people of Atlantic County can see exactly what your Sheriff's Office has been doing to prepare our officers to serve you, said O’Donoghue.
