Health officials in Atlantic County reported 97 new COVID-19 cases this past weekend along with one new death.

The 97 new cases were between 71 men (ages 17 to 82) and 26 women (ages 7 to 88).

The one new reported death was a 68-year-old man from Hamilton Township.

55 of the 97 positive COVID-19 cases were from Hammonton and 23 were from Hamilton Township. Many other towns or townships reported positive cases in the single digits.

With Sunday's report, 2,782 Atlantic County residents have tested positive with 1,373 having been cleared as recovered. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 191 residents across the county.

Since April 9th, Atlantic County has tested just over 2,000 residents with COVID-19 symptoms at its own testing locations. Nearly 76% have tested negative.

The county will continue to provide testing by appointment only for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription on Tuesday at the public works complex on Route 9 in Norhfield. For a full list of qualifications and to make an appointment, visit the county's website.
