Attempt To Bring Gun into Atlantic City, NJ, Courthouse Thwarted
We have learned and confirmed some of the details regarding an attempt to bring a handgun into the Atlantic City Courthouse, Civil Division on Monday, January 7, 2024.
It was fast work, accomplished during a potential life-threatening moment of truth that was achieved by The Atlantic County, New Jersey Sheriff’s Department.
The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department recovered a handgun, that they located in a backpack, during an attempt to bring it into the Atlantic City Courthouse, Civil Division.
It turns out that the handgun was stolen.
The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department, under the direction of Sheriff Joe O’Donoghue and Undersheriffs Mario Suarez and Brian Lee have restored good order in the department and have successfully returned the organization as a vibrant law enforcement agency, focused on the core responsibilities of police work.
It is believed that the successful police work exhibited is largely due to Chief Robert O’Donoghue. The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department is applying the training that he has brought to the department and now you can see how effective it is.
Just imagine the potential consequences had this suspect gotten through and into the courthouse with the handgun?
There is much more to this handgun issue than can be revealed at this time, as the investigation continues … and, it appears that it will expand further into other areas not yet available to the public.
