Attorneys & Former Board President Expose Atlantic City Schools
We had an exclusive on-air interview this morning with attorneys David Castellani and John Swift, along with former Atlantic City teacher Phil Eisenstein.
The one hour interview was revealing in nature in many ways. The interview also drew direct, real-time responses from former Atlantic City Board of Education John Devlin and a confidential Atlantic City Board of Education source.
NOTE: Eisenstein was fired from his teaching position by the Atlantic City Board of Education about a decade ago.
John Devlin Revealed An Explosive Allegation
I am quoting John Devlin precisely as he shared his comments with me:
The board of education gave Riley (Atlantic City board of Education solicitor) instructions to settle this case! She circumvented the board of education. And never proposed our offer to Eisenstein's lawyer (John Swift), said Devlin.
I Asked John Swift On-Air To Confirm Devlin’s Statement
Swift confirmed that he made an $ 20,000 offer to settle the whole matter in 2016. Swift said that he never received a counter offer or any offer from the Atlantic City Board of Education.
Devlin confirmed that the previous attorney also recommended to the Board of Education to settle the Eisenstein case.
Eisenstein was terminated from his teaching position despite the fact that the New Jersey Department of child protective services fully cleared Eisenstein.
CONFIDENTIAL ATLANTIC CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION SOURCE BLOWS THE WHISTLE
In real time, during our interview, I received the following written communication:
Hey Harry, even though I'm not allowed to comment on this Eisenstein situation I will say as a board member the information given to us by Tracy Riley never included any information about videos being deleted we were only told that it was a matter of a whistleblower claim because Mr. Eisenstein reported a student for claiming that he was going to bring a gun to school again I am anonymously telling you this but that is the information that was relayed to us by Mrs. Riley.
David Castellani Trial Performance Was Masterclass
Castellani defeated the Atlantic City Board of Education across the board in the recently concluded trial.
Castellani also confirmed that the jury verdict in favor of his client (Eisenstein) places the Atlantic City Board of Education responsible for l$ 900,000 plus, or, possibly more than $1 million.
Castelani also confirmed that two out of three videos were destroyed by the Atlantic City public schools system. The jury was permitted to place this issue in favor of Eisenstein.
To think that this matter it could have been settled for $20,000 more than a decade ago.
David Castelani has a great success versus the City of Atlantic City..
Eisenstein Was Professional Throughout
Despite being treated so badly, Eisenstein behaved like a gentleman throughout the entire decade.
Eisenstein said on air this morning that he is hopeful that it will encourage other teachers to come forward and not fear retribution.
it remains to be seen if the Atlantic City Board of Education will take the jury verdict to the appellate courts and challenge it.
If past is prologue, this is likely what they will do. It’s what they always do.
