As chief meteorologist, my mission is to provide the most honest, accurate weather forecasts possible. I grew up in Jackson, where my weather obsession earned me the nickname "Weatherman Dan." I earned my atmospheric science degree from Cornell University. My career as a TV meteorologist included stops in Oklahoma, in Central New York and at News 12 New Jersey. I've also done research and programming work for the Northeast Regional Climate Center and NJ State Climate Office. I am proud to hold the American Meteorological Society's prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation. I live in Union County with my wife, Amy, and young sons, Jackson, Griffin, and Nathan. Things I love: family, wine, storm chasing, Broadway musicals and Disney World.
NJ weather: Will weekend cold blast lead to wintry weather next week?
Let's talk about the return of blustery cold weather, and the potential for snow, icy mix, and/or rain across New Jersey early next week.
Thursday NJ weather: Quieting down again, for a couple of days
A cold, calm morning. A cool, breezy day. And we're watching another blast of arctic wind set to arrive for the weekend.
Feeling more wintry Wednesday: AM snow showers, cold and blustery
This resurgence of cold air and wintry weather will be temporarily for New Jersey. We won't be so lucky next time around.
NJ’s next front less than 24 hours away: Cold wind, snow showers
Our impending snowflakes and cooldown will be fairly unremarkable and brief, but there is another burst of even colder air on the horizon.
New Jersey’s only weather story this week: A pair of cooldowns
Even though temperatures will take a ride this week, precipitation chances will be minimal.
NJ’s first storm system in almost two weeks arrives Friday
It will be a rainmaker, although that rain could be heavy at times, with possible lightning and thunder and marginally gusty winds.
Thursday NJ weather: March-like temperatures and a rainmaker on the way
Thermometers will continue to run about 10 degrees above seasonal norms, as we track a wet storm system for the start of the weekend.
Wednesday NJ weather: There’s actually a rain chance in the forecast
It'll be our first storm system in almost two weeks; but don't expect much, as late Friday's precipitation is looking light and showery.
Tuesday NJ Weather: Brighter Skies and a Little Warm-up on the Way
This quiet weather won't necessarily end with a "bang," but there is a storm system and chance of rain/snow aiming for New Jersey at the end of the week.
Monday NJ Weather: Welcome to ‘The Dead of Winter’
High temperatures for Monday will reach the lower 40s. Skies will turn mostly cloudy or even overcast and we can't rule out a sprinkle or flurry at some point.
