Baseball Doubleheader: Brookdale Community College Sweeps Atlantic Cape Community College Twice

In a Sunday afternoon doubleheader at Surf Stadium in Atlantic City, it was the visiting Brookdale Community College Jersey Blues baseball team who took both games with playoffs on the horizon.

Robert Salvatore of Cranford dominated in game 1 of the doubleheader sweep over the Atlantic Cape Community College Buccaneers, pitching a complete game and allowing just one run on three hits.

Ryan Lasko of Wall Township shut out the Bucs in game two, pitching a complete game 7-innings and holding ACCC to just three hits, and only once in that game did an ACCC player reach third base.

On the offensive front, the Jersey Blues used power and timely hitting in key situations to win 5-1 and 5-0 on Sunday.

Darius Troche, the Catcher from Shillington, PA, hit a solo home run off the scoreboard in left-center in the 2nd inning of game one.

John Wade of Brick Township, who was the DH in both games, hit a home run well beyond the left-field wall in the top of the 7th inning of game one.

Christian Bauman of West Long Branch, an outfielder, slugged a homerun to right field in the 2nd inning of Game 2.
