Beheaded Birds at Dog Beach, Longport – Egg Harbor Township, NJ
This is a follow-up to our October 13, 2024 report.
We first learned about the issue of beheaded birds from “Scan Atlantic City is in Ocean City, New Jersey.”
Their Facebook page has generated many hundreds of comments about a significant number of beheaded birds at Dog Beach in the Longport, Egg Harbor Township area.
The social media comments are wild. We published some of the more tame remarks in our previous coverage, see link below.

Various rumors have spread that this is the result of rituals and other wild conspiracy theories.
I think Atlantic City Councilman George Tibbitt got it right early on, when he wrote:
It's the eagles and hawks and osprey's I used to find them on the casino roofs all the time. There is a family of eagles on lakes bay, wrote Tibbitt.
At our home in Egg Harbor Township, we have witnessed a hawk beheading a bird and dropping the body.
When word about this came about, Scan Atlantic City wrote:
Anyone ever hear of any bizarre rituals happening at the dog beach at night? We are here now and there are about 16 to 20 beheaded dead birds, mostly chickens. Definitely some strange crap going down here, wrote AtlanticCity911. (Initially posted by Janice Gloway Dickson)
We can’t say for certain what this is all about, however, it appears to be nature at work and not something more sinister or weird.
