
Triple Homicide in Berkeley Township, NJ; Suspect Dead
- Triple homicide reported in Berkeley Township; suspect dead, investigation ongoing
Authorities in Ocean County are investigating a triple homicide.
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, the incident happened early Tuesday morning in Berkeley Township.
Early Morning Gunshots
NJ.com reported neighbors heard gunshots around 5 AM coming from a home near the corner of Shorewood and Fairwood Drives.
Officials said preliminary findings indicated that three individuals were fatally shot. The suspected shooter subsequently turned the weapon on himself and was pronounced dead at Community Medical Center in Toms River.
Prosecutor: Active Investigation
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a social media post, "This investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional information will be released at the appropriate time."
No other details had been released as of 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.
