A big TV and movie star is visiting Atlantic City to kick-off Memorial Day weekend.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., will be joined by "Cheers" and "Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer for the traditional "Opening of the Sea" ceremony on the Boardwalk outside Resorts Casino Hotel Friday afternoon.
According to a press release, after brief welcome messages from city officials, Mayor Small will present a special gift to Grammer, who has been making regular guest bartending appearances across the World's Play Ground.
Mayor Small and Grammer will then head to the beach to "unlock" the ocean and will venture into the water with the assistance of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol.

The event is scheduled to begin at 1:00.
