Is a South Jersey Mall Losing Another Store?

Is a declining mall in South Jersey losing another big store?

It certainly looks that way, although this store is not actually in the mall, but it's a part of one.

Our travels today take us to Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing where a nearby sign hints at a move for one of their big anchor stores.

Bob’s Discount Furniture “Coming Soon”

We noticed over the weekend that at Consumer Square Shopping Center on Wrangleboro Road, which is right across from the mall (home to Target and Kohl's), we saw this sign:

Yes, Bob's Discount Furniture Store is "coming soon."

Bob's has been over at what is known as the "convenience center" or the strip of stores at the back of Hamilton Mall for about a decade.

Its neighbors include Planet Fitness, a Dollar Tree (which, ironically, is also over in Consumer Square), and a trampoline park.

The Empty Christmas Tree Shops Spot?

As for where Bob's might be going over at Consumer Square, we'd assume they would move into the old Christmas Tree Shops spot in the middle of the plaza. That's pretty much the only big, empty space over there.

Official Word

We reached out to Bob's for a comment and they confirmed that their Mays Landing store is moving and it should open either at the end of this year or early 2026.
