Borgata Set to Reopen on July 26th
The top gaming hall in Atlantic City has announced it will be reopening in less than two weeks.
The announcement on Borgata's Facebook page says, in part, "There’s no place like this place. We're excited to announce our public reopening on July 26. We are ready to get back to doing the things we love most. We are ready to entertain you. Celebrate you. Escape with you. We are ready to begin creating new #BorgataAC experiences together."
Atlantic City's casinos reopened just in time for 4th of July weekend after being closed for several months due to COVID-19, however, Borgata chose to remain closed since there are no shows for people to see in addition to Gov. Murphy's executive order which prohibit indoor dining along with a ban on smoking and drinking on the casino floor. At the time, Borgata said, "our guests expect a special experience when they come to our property and if we cannot provide that level of hospitality, we feel it best that we remain closed..."
When Borgata reopens, guests there can expect many of the same protocols and procedures that other casinos in Atlantic City have implemented, including games that are frequently sanitized, alternating slot machines being unavailable to create social distancing, limited seating at pools, and to-go and/or outdoor dining at restaurants.
In 2019, Borgata was Atlantic City's top casino seeing nearly $798 million in revenue, according to the Associated Press.
