Just Sing — Instead, New Jersey’s Bruce Springsteen Slams ‘ICE’

Politics is everywhere. No matter where you go, or, what you do.

Case in point, this past Saturday, Bruce Springsteen injected nasty politics at the Light of Day Winterfest main event show in New Jersey.

Why Won’t These Entertainers Just Sing?

No one wants to spend big dollars and go to a concert, to be forced to listen to the performers political views. Why do they choose to alienate 1/2 of their paying audience?

Here’s What Bruce Springsteen Said About “ICE”

If you believe in democracy, in liberty, if you believe that truth still matters, that it's worth speaking out, that it is worth fighting for, if you believe in the power of the law and no one stands above it, if you stand against heavily armed masked federal troops invading American cities and using Gestapo tactics against our fellow citizens, if you believe you don't deserve to be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, then send a message to this president, and as the mayor of that city has said, 'ICE should get the f- out of Minneapolis,” said Springsteen before his captive audience.

Why Would The Above Statement Ever Be Made At A Public Concert?

The only answer seems to be that there are some entertainers who simply can’t help themselves,

Instead of just singing … they feel compelled to inject their opinion and divisive politics .

Springsteen Also Said Thus Past Saturday Night In Concert

I wrote this song as an ode to American possibility, said Springsteen while introducing "The Promised Land.” It was about a both beautiful but flawed country, that we are, and the country that we could be. Right now, we are living through incredibly critical times. The United States, the ideals and the values for which it stood for the past 250 years, is being tested as it's never been in modern times, said Springsteen.

Springsteen also said, "Those values and those ideals have never been as endangered as they are right now," said Springsteen. "So as we gather tonight in this beautiful display of love and care and thoughtfulness and community, if you believe in democracy and liberty and believe the truth still matters, you must speak out and it's worth fighting for, said Springsteen.
