In Cape May, New Jersey, a boiler room from the 1800’s has been creatively and successfully transformed into a full restaurant (with a brand new, expanded menu), dining, dancing and fabulous brick oven pizza.

The basement area might tell some of the most fascinating stories of all.

Look at this photo (above and below), to the left, you can see the actual boiler plate from the early 1800’s.

The original boiler pit remains part of the restaurant today, as it was built directly into the foundation, and the old boiler's faceplate has been preserved on the wall (to the left) in the photo here.

We Dined In The Boiler Room Last Night

We experienced the new, expanded menu for the first time. Deciding on our entreé was not easy, as there are so many great items to choose from.

My Selection

Chicken Parmigiana, served with chicken cutlet, marinara, mozzarella and spaghetti. The portion was large, easily enough for two people.

My Wife, Margie’s Selection

French Onion Chicken Marsala, served with caramelized onion, sautéed mushrooms, cream, marsala wine, provolone and spaghetti.

Margie loved it and brought 1/2 of it back home for a full second meal.

We ran into Jim Lennon, Director of Marketing and two of the Boiler Room manager’s last night.

Their attention to detail and service-minded culture creates an appealing atmosphere to enjoy your dining experience at Congress Hall.
