Cape May, NJ, The Best Christmas Winter Wonderland [Photos]

We spent time yesterday at a Winter Wonderland in Cape May City, New Jersey that was jam packed with happy, overflow crowds … 11 days before Christmas.

There is so much fun available for all members of the family.

The winter season used to be a dead zone in Cape May City, New Jersey.

However, all of that changed when Curtis Bashaw, the Managing Partner of Cape Resorts (Parent Company of Congress Hall, The Virginia and other holdings) went all-in on extending the Cape May tourist season.

It has worked, likely beyond even Bashaw’s vision for what the Christmas season could become in Cape May City.

Last weekend’s crowds were enormous. We were there. Last Saturday was the annual Cape May City Christmas Parade.

Chairs were lined-up at least a full day before the parade, with every inch along the parade route made up of chairs, couches, blow-up encoders and other creative seating.

We recommend Congress Hall, Washington Steet Mall, The West End Garage and the fabulous Sunset Beach Gift Ship as must stops.

Throughout the holiday season, Congress Hall has a Winter Wonderland of pop-up, outdoor boutique stores where you can do some fabulous Christmas shopping.

Indoors, Congress Hall has breakfast with Santa in the ballroom, the Blue Pig Tavern and The Boiler Room.

Congress Hall is decorated beautifully both indoors and outdoors.

The West End Garage is a great concept, whereby you will find dozens of boutique shops, with everything from antiques, furniture, jewelry, clothing and so much more.

The Washington Street Mall is iconic and consists of every store styling that you can think of: clothing, jewelry, toys, kitchen items, bath items, restaurants, ice cream, 5 & 10 and so much more.

Finally, we recommend The Sunset Beach Gift Shop, owned by Larry and Michele Hume.

It is one of our Cape May City favorites and just stops.

We were there yesterday. This more than 45-year store has an endless and diverse inventory.

That  gifts, miniature golf and a great grille … which now serves seafood, including amazing fish sandwiches.

It is not an exaggeration to say that you can do all of your Christmas shopping in the Sunset Beach Guft Shop.

They have both quantity and quality in abundance.
