You can’t say that Chris Christie is not a self-absorbed, self-indulgent man. He’s earned it.

The man is literally throwing a party for himself. And, not just anywhere. He’s having his own party this Thursday at Drumthwacket, the Governor of New Jersey’s mansion.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has approved Christie’s use of the mansion. No state taxpayer money will be used. Christie will be responsible to fully fund his party.

Governor Murphy once again demonstrates that he’s a good man. Murphy is allowing Christie to celebrate and gloat in the Governor’s mansion on the occasion of Christie defeating an incumbent Democrat Governor.

David Wildstein, Publisher of the New Jersey Globe was the first to break the news about Christie’s party.

Make no mistake about it, Christie suffered a terrible loss this past November 5, 2024, when President Donald Trump was re-elected to a second term.

Christie has been inflicted with a bad bout of Trump Derangement Syndrome for the past 4 years. Having a party for himself won’t change that.

It’s been 15 years since Christie was first elected Governor of New Jersey, defeating the incumbent Governor Jon Corzine by a margin of 47.5 percent to 45 percent of the vote.

What Christie should spend some time reflecting upon is how much he hurt public safety officers and their families (15 years ago) by ending their COLA for the rest of their lives.

It is the 15th anniversary of this massive double-cross by Christie.

Think about the rampant inflation that has taken place over the past 15 years.

Then candidate Christie promised my twin brother, Don Hurley back in 2009 that he would never take away any salary or benefits away from police and fire public servants.

This became a major issue in the final weeks of the 2009 Gubernatorial election, when an accusation was made that Christie would be reducing wages and fringe benefits of police and fire employees.

Because of Christie, these hard-working retirees are receiving Year 2009 dollars, or, their pension rate when they have retired.

In case you doubt our word about Christie regarding this unfortunate situation, here is the letter that Christie wrote when he thought he was about to lose the 2009 election to Corzine:

Christie wrote this letter at the direct request of Don Hurley, who Christie had promised (before the election) that he would never do exactly what he went on to do … on nearly day one of his administration. He directly broke his word.

Here are some very blunt, strong words about Christie, from Don Hurley, the former President of the Atlantic City PBA Local 24.

I'm the one who told Christie to put his pledge to police officers and fire fighters in writing, as it was being widely rumored he had a plan to come after our pensions and benefits. 3 days after the election I was interviewing Jon Corzine and Christie in AC when it became clear Christie was going to renig on his promise. He told me "things with the pensions were much worse than we knew", which was a complete falsehood. He had a plan all along to cripple our public safety officers for his presidential ambitions. And because of him police and fighters have had their pensions frozen for 14 years and ever increasing cost increases to health insurance benefits in their twilight years. Chris Christie should burn in hell, instead of throwing himself party on the anniversary of his skullduggery,” said Don Hurley.

Having a party for yourself - under these circumstances - is self-indulgent, even for Chris Christie.

NOTE: Christie made a habit of this type of dishonorable behavior when he was Governor … when he also broke his word to Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson regarding a major funding agreement that the two had made.

Christie’s double-cross on Levinson has cost Atlantic County taxpayers many millions of dollars

When Levinson would not accept Christie’s public financial betrayal, Christie retaliated against Levinson by not reappointing his son as chairman of the New Jersey casino control commission. Matt Levinson, by any standard of measure, did a phenomenal job in his position. This is how small Chris Christie really is.
