The COVID-19 Omicron variant is most probably already here in New Jersey.

We can now confirm that it’s very close. The first case is in Philadelphia has been confirmed.

The person is a man in his 30’s from Northwest Philadelphia, the city's health department confirmed today.

It has not been revealed when he tested positive or anything about his recent travel schedule.

The Philadelphia health department has confirmed that they are working with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to collaborate on this case.

Philadelphia residents have been urged to take precautions, "given the possibility that this new strain may be more transmissible.”

This part of the story will not be popular with many people who have lost all patience with COVID-19 … but, Philadelphia officials are openly saying that citizens “should seriously reconsidering plans for indoor holiday gatherings and activities.”

The first case of Omicron in America was confirmed on December 1, 2021 in California. The person returned to San Francisco from a trip to South Africa.

The Omicron variant has now been confirmed in 9 states in America.
