The New Jersey MVC announced Thursday that the licencing centers in Vineland and Cardiff have closed after employees tested Covid-19 positive.

By my count, 16 New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission locations are presently closed because of positive Covid-19  employee cases. Sixteen! What is happening at these motor vehicle centers?

The Cardiff Testing Center is scheduled to reopen Thursday, December 17 and the Vineland Licensing Center will reopen Dec. 26, the state Motor Vehicle Commission announced Thursday.

The employee who tested positive was last in the Vineland Center on Dec. 8.

If you were thinking of trying the Toms River or Medford testing centers, think again.  Both are closed with positive employee Covid tests.

Even if you are willing to travel to Trenton or Freehold for your MVC business...sorry. Closed, due to employee positive Covid tests.

Seeing this gives me a real feeling of relief that I decided to "skip the trip" and renewed my driver's licence by mail.

Other motor vehicle commission centers that are closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 include Springfield in Union County, Randolph in Morris County, Eatontown in Monmouth County, Newark in Essex County, Flemington in Hunterdon County and the North Bergen Testing Center.

See the complete and extensive list on the Motor Vehicle Commision website.

The few remaining testing center locations that are open are now by appointment only, that is, if you are still willing to take your chances going to one.
