After a disappointing end to the 2023 NFL season for the Philadelphia Eagles, the organization had to make some real changes.

The Eagles indirectly answered the question of what went wrong the last several weeks of last season when they fired 90 percent of their coaching staff. Philadelphia hired experienced coordinators while Head Coach Nick Sirianni handed over the offensive game planning to new OC Kellen Moore.

But just as big of an offseason change was the retirement of two Eagles Legends. Six-time all-pro center Jason Kelce and six-time Pro Bowl selection Fletcher Cox are no longer playing in Eagles midnight green. That leaves big voids to fill at their positions and locker room leadership.

How Much Has The Eagles Roster Changed This Offseason?

According to research by Bookies.com, the Philadelphia Eagles were the tenth-oldest average-aged roster during the 2023 NFL season. Without veterans Kelce and Cox on the roster, the 2024 Eagles roster average age has decreased compared to last season.

The average age of Eagles players on the 2024 53-man roster is 26 years, 2 months, and 17 days. That number lands Philadelphia as the 6th youngest roster to start the new NFL season.

In fact, the Eagles have the youngest overall roster in the NFC East.

The Washington Commanders have the oldest roster in the division (27 years, 3 months, 18 days) while the Dallas Cowboys are the second oldest (26 years, 11 months, 15 days). The New York Giants roster is closest in average age (26 years, 3 months, 10 days) to the Eagles.

Here are the Top Ten Youngest Rosters to start the 2024 NFL Season:

1. Green Bay Packers
2. Los Angeles Rams
3. Denver Broncos
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
5. Los Angeles Chargers
6. Philadelphia Eagles
7. Las Vegas Raiders
8. Kansas City Chiefs
9. New York Giants
10. Indianapolis Colts
