Driver of Stolen Vehicle is Arrested on LBI

Ship Bottom and Long Beach Police pulled together their efforts to arrest a man driving a stolen vehicle out of West Orange on Sunday around 11:52AM.

Ship Bottom Police tried pulling the Newark man over but he eluded officers and then caused an accident on Long Beach Boulevard.

The vehicle then continued to drive, leaving the scene of the accident before abandoning it behind a residence on East 7th Street.

The driver then fled on foot.

Ship Bottom Police along with Long Beach Township Police Department were able to then locate and arrest the driver, Savio G. Garcia, 18, of Newark, NJ, who has been charged with multiple criminal charges and motor vehicle violations.

Garcia was later transported and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
