Egg Harbor City, NJ, Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Assaulting 4 Young Children
A 20-year-old man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting four children between the ages of 3 and 13.
This past Tuesday, Jaquan Dublin of Egg Harbor City pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault.
According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, following an investigation that lasted several months, Dublin was arrested and charged on February 10, 2021, for sexually assaulting four children, all in Galloway Township, during the summer of 2020.
Although he was 18 when arrested, Dublin was 17 when the offenses occurred. Accordingly, the State filed a motion in Family Court for the defendant to be prosecuted as an adult, which was granted.
As a result of the guilty plea, Dublin now faces three concurrent sentences of 25 years in state prison; he must serve the entire 25-year sentence without parole. A fourth sentence of 20
years, subject to the No Early Release Act, requires that he serve eighty-five percent of that sentence before being eligible for parole.
Upon release from prison, sometime around the year 2048, Dublin will be subject to Megan’s Law registration and parole supervision for life.
Sentencing is currently scheduled for June 27th, but that may be postponed pending an evaluation at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in northern New Jersey.
