Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Distribution Charges
An Egg Harbor Township man now potentially faces several years behind bars after pleading guilty to drug distribution charges.
On Wednesday, 48-year-old Kevin Vaughan pleaded guilty in Atlantic County Superior Court to second-degree possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and second-degree possession with the intent to distribute hydrocodone.
His plea agreement calls for him to serve concurrent five year sentences in state prison.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says on April 21st, 2021, detectives from the Atlantic City Police Department along with the FBI stopped Vaughan's car following a long-term narcotics investigation.
As Vaughan emerged from the vehicle, police observed a large bulge in his waistband, which was later identified as 1200 wax folds of fentanyl. Vaughan was placed under arrest and provided consent for police to search his motor vehicle. Inside the vehicle, police located 72 pills of Hydrocodone.
While Vaughan was being processed, a search of his person yielded 14 baggies of crack cocaine.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 15th.
