A Newtonville man is facing a long list of charges, including DWI, following a head-on crash that seriously injured two people on the 4th of July.

The accident happened around 8:45 PM in the area of Childs-Kirk Memorial Park on Idlewood Avenue.

According to EHT Police, Ryan Marsh of Newtonville was headed southbound on Idlewood Avenue in a 2014 Kia Sorento "when he intentionally crossed over into the opposite lane of travel."

Once on the wrong side of the road, he collided with a 2007 Nissan Murano being driven by Angie Cruz of Egg Harbor Township.

Following the collision, police say Marsh fled the scene but was quickly apprehended a short distance away.

Cruz and her passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to the trauma unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment.

Marsh was determined to be intoxicated and was taken into custody, according to authorities.

He has been charged with multiple motor vehicle summons which include driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Additionally, he was charged criminally with two counts of assault by auto, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury, being involved in a motor vehicle crash with serious bodily injury while operating a vehicle on a suspended license, and throwing bodily fluids at a law enforcement officer.

Marsh is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
