Republicans Will Not Vote For Lone Democrat To Be Mayor Of EHT, NJ

We wrote an article on November 7, 2025, that speculated about the possibility that Republicans on the Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey Committee might vote for the lone Democrat to be the next Mayor.

It is Important To Set The Record Straight

This is not going to happen. At this time, we do not know who the next Mayor of Egg Harbor Township will be.

However, we do know that it will not be Democrat Peter Castellano.

Castellano Defeated Republican Incumbent

On November 4, 2025, Castellano defeated Paul Rosenberg to become the first Democrat to win an Egg harbor Township Committee seat in more than 30 years.

Bob Burns Was The Last Elected Democrat

The last Democrat was Bob Burns, who served from 1991-1996. Burns was Mayor in 1994.

Senator Vince Polistina

Egg Harbor Township is a very important part of the Atlantic County Republican Party.

So much so, that Senator Polistina is the Egg Harbor Township Municipal Leader.

Polistina’s leadership has been felt in a most positive way in Egg Harbor Township.

Is the largest municipality in Atlantic County.

Atlantic County consists of 23 municipalities.

From an electoral standpoint, Egg Harbor Township is important to Republicans… Just like Atlantic City is so important for Democrats.

January, 2026

Egg Harbor Township Republicans will hold a 4 to 1 majority on the Township Committee.

The 5 Committee members vote each January 1st to select a mayor. The citizens of Egg Harbor Township do not vote for their mayor.

The current mayor of Egg Harbor Township is Laura Pfrommer.

Is located in Egg Harbor Township and it has been so special for so many generations… Since 1954.
