Eight people are in trouble with the law after the Atlantic City Police Department conducted a surveillance operation in the city on Thursday.

Cops from the ACPD's Special Investigations Section with assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit had their eyes focused on the area around the 1400 block of Memorial Avenue Thursday following complaints from residents and businesses about drugs and quality of life issues.

As a result, five men and three women were arrested. Detectives recovered 150 bags of heroin and 27 grams of cocaine.

ARRESTED: Shakur Aubid, 25, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and conspiracy.

ARRESTED: Juana Boehler, 55, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS.

ARRESTED: Curtis Drinks, 24, of Egg Harbor Township.
CHARGES: Two counts of possession of CDS, and single counts of possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and conspiracy.

ARRESTED: Iyon McKinley, 20, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and conspiracy.

ARRESTED: Nereida Rosario, 45, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS.

ARRESTED: Natasia Sam, 19, of Vineland.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Those six individuals were released on a summons with a future court date. The following two people were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility:

ARRESTED: Bobby Barley, 60, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS and contempt of court.

ARRESTED: Derrick Ellis, 40, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and contempt of court.
