As COVID-19 cases are surging in other parts of the country, Atlantic County continues to report a small number of new people with the virus.

On Wednesday, county health officials reported 13 new positive COVID-19 cases, marking the fifth consecutive day that number has been in the teens.

On Tuesday, 17 new cases were reported, 19 new cases on Monday, 13 this past Sunday, and 18 last Saturday.

Sadly, two more people have passed away as a result of COVID-19 -- a 46-year old Buena woman and a 50-year-old Hammonton man. With those deaths, the county total now stands at 228.

47 more residents have now been cleared as recovered for a countywide total of 1,866 of the 3,279 who have tested positive to date.

Atlantic County will continue to provide COVID-19 testing at its drive-thru facility at the public works complex on Route 9 in Northfield next Tuesday, July 28th, from 9 to 11:30AM. Testing is now available for both symptomatic and asymptomatic county residents with or without a doctor’s script. Residents must make an appointment and provide proof of residency.
