Former NJ Gov. Hurt Cops & Firefighters — Senator Is Helping Them

Politicians are notorious for breaking their word. However, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie takes the cake.

Christie waited a whole two days to break his word to retired police officers and firefighters in New Jersey.

Here’s The Proof Regarding Christie’s Promise

In the final stretch of Christie’s campaign versus then Governor Jon Corzine — word was quickly spreading that if Christie won, he was going to cut certain negotiated law enforcement pension benefits.

Specifically, word hit the streets that Christie would cut cost-of-living increases and other negotiated salary and benefits.

To counter this allegation, a panicked Christie penned a letter and promise — which he personally placed in my identical twin brother Don's hands.

Before Christie could earn the support of law enforcement — Don Hurley, (former Atlantic City & Ventnor PBA President) required Christie to put his promise in writing — which Christie did. (See his letter below).

As it turned out, Christie’s letter wasn’t worth the paper it was written on, as Christie broke his word in just 2 days after taking office.

This Has Gone Pn For More Than 15 Years

Retired police and fire employees throughout New Jersey have not received a Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) for more than 15 years.

Just imagine if you had to live on your 2011 wages in the year 2026?

We literally have many retired New Jersey Police & Fire professionals currently living in poverty.

Testa is stepping-up big try and right this wrong.

Before Trenton spends another dollar on free services for illegal immigrants, we need to take care of the people who take care of us. Our police officers and firefighters run toward danger when everyone else runs away. They protect our families and our communities. A COLA was promised to them and we need to deliver.
"Over the last five years, Democrats have spent more than a half billion dollars in taxpayer money for illegal immigrants. That includes 100 percent taxpayer-funded health care for children of illegal immigrants, as well as taxpayer-funded legal services for illegal
immigrants. New Jersey has the money; the question is whether Trenton has the courage to spend it on the right priorities, said Testa.

According to the Office of Legislative Services (OLS), the two programs outline by Testa have cost New Jersey taxpayers more than $500 million over the past five years.

The state of Florida fixed this same abomination— it’s time for New Jersey to do tte same.
