Former Speaker Backs Surprise Candidate for New Jersey Governor

In a surprise development, former United States Speaker of The House, Newt Gingrich has endorsed a Republican candidate for Governor of New Jersey.

The fact that Gingrich would wade into the New Jersey Gubernatorial race is not a surprise … as there are only two Governor races in 2025 … New Jersey and The Commonwealth of Virginia.

It is who Gingrich has endorsed that is a political shocker.

Gingrich is one of the brightest Republican leaders in America. His support is meaningful.

Inexplicably, Gingrich has decided to endorse a Republican candidate who almost no one has ever heard of … that has no legitimate path to win.

Gingrich has formally endorsed former Englewood Cliffs Mayor Mario Kranjac … going as far as to say that Kranjac is the only Republican candidate who can flip New Jersey from Democrat to Republican.

That’s preposterous, as Jack Ciattarelli earned 48.5 percent of the popular vote for Governor in 2021 against Phil Murphy, the incumbent Democrat Governor.

Ciatterelli has only grown stronger since then.

President Donald Trump has not endorsed, or, commented as yet about the New Jersey race for Governor.

Multiple sources have told us that President Trump will be commenting about the race soon.

Ciatterelli has been supportive of President Trump, while candidate Bill Spadea has gone from anti-Trump to suddenly pro-Trump.

Spadea famously said this about President Trump on January 14, 2021:

"He's beaten. He's tired. He would have been better off resigning the office ... Pray that we eventually elect a president with the strength, courage and commitment to the Constitution and the American way of life to ignore the polls, the optics and the haters and be tough enough to fight,” said Spadea.

Words like this, don’t usually earn you a President Trump endorsement. Spadea trashed Trump just 6 days before Trump he was leaving The Presidency … with Spadea thinking that Trump was leaving it forever. Spadea miscalculated that bigly.

New Jersey Gubernatorial candidate, State Senator Jon Bramnick is rabidly anti-Trump. Bramnick is “The Chris Christie” candidate in the race.

A Trump endorsement against Ciattarelli (for Spadea) is the only thing that could derail Ciattarelli from winning his second consecutive Republican Nomination for Governor of New Jersey.

Ciatterelli is running so strong that he can overcome a potential Trump endorsement against him … as Curtis Bashaw did in the immediate past election cycle for The United States Senate for New Jersey.
