Galloway Township, N.J. — An Atlantic County man will likely be spending a few years behind bars in connection with a few different criminal cases.

On Thursday, 44-year-old Jesse Winters pleaded guilty to third-degree theft of a motor vehicle, third-degree burglary, and fourth-degree obstruction.

2024 Incident

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, on December 3rd, 2024, officers with the Galloway Township Police Department executed a search warrant on Winters' property located on the 400 block of West Morton Avenue. Winters obstructed the investigation by attempting to flee into the woods, where he was ultimately arrested.

2025 Incidents

On February 21st, 2025, Galloway Township officers responded to Red Roof Inn and Suites for a report of a stolen vehicle. Police received information that Winters was the person who had stolen the vehicle. They were able to obtain surveillance depicting Winters using that vehicle, and he was charged accordingly.

Less than a week later, officers with the Atlantic City Police Department received a complaint that numerous tools valued at over $3,600 were stolen from employees of Ocean Casino Resort. Police were able to obtain surveillance of the incident, depicting Winters entering a secured utility room in which the tools were stored and stealing them.

Sentencing

Sentencing is scheduled for July 9th. His plea deal recommends a sentence of three years flat in state prison.
