Garage Blaze Turns into Forest Fire in Egg Harbor Twp., NJ
Officials in Egg Harbor Township say a blaze in a garage Sunday afternoon turned into a small forest fire.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says their officers responded to the 200 block of Asbury Road at around 2:00 for a report of a structure fire.
At the scene, "it was confirmed a detached garage was fully engulfed and the woods surrounding the garage was also actively burning."
Several local fire companies responded and immediately began attempting to extinguish the fire. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service also responded and began working to control the fire from spreading any further.

Crews worked quickly and were able to control and extinguish the fire in about two hours.
Officials say about one acre of forest burned and the detached garage was a total loss.
The cause and spread of the fire remain under investigation.
