The identity of a New Jersey motorist who was killed after her passenger van struck a Garden State Parkway guardrail and flipped over has been released.

Donna Davis, 54, died in the fatal crash that occurred at about 4:30 a.m. yesterday, near mile-marker 87.3 on the southbound side of the Garden State Parkway, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Davis’ “Ford E350 went off the road to the right, struck the guardrail, and overturned,” according to NJSP Sergeant Alejandro Goez … who also confirmed that the driver and passenger were both ejected from the car.

Davis was alive at the scene of the crash and was transported to Community Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Davis died later at the hospital, according to Goez.

The identity of the passenger has also been revealed.

The passenger, Christie Ledney, 38, of Branchville, New Jersey incurred what has been described as “moderate injuries” and was transported to an area hospital, said Goez.

The driver and passenger we’re both ejected from the car during the crash.

The exact cause and circumstances of the fatal crash remain under investigation at this time.
