UPDATE: From a press release late Thursday afternoon from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office:

An investigation found that on February 21, 2025, while employed by the Hamilton Township School District, Williams allegedly touched an intimate part of a minor child who was under his care in a sexual manner.

Former Hamilton Township BOE Employee Charged

A former employee of the Hamilton Township Board of Education has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Arrest Details and Charges

34-year-old Darnell Williams was arrested near his home in Whiting, Ocean County, on Thursday, according to the Township of Hamilton Police Department.

Following an investigation into a report received earlier this year, he is now facing the following charges:

  • Second-degree sexual assault
  • Second-degree endangering the welfare of a child
  • Second-degree official misconduct

Investigation Continues

Authorities made the announcement on Facebook and did not include many details, only saying that this remains an active investigation and they would not be releasing any additional information.

The only comment from the department was as follows:

The Township of Hamilton Police Department remains committed to thoroughly investigating all allegations of this nature and ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.
