Hamilton Twp., NJ, Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Assault, Firearm Charges
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says 36-year-old Joseph Ferante of Hamilton Township has pleaded guilty to charges of third-degree aggravated assault and third-degree unlawful possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
Ferante was arrested on September 9th, 2021, when police responded to a home in Hamilton Township for a report of a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, police located the victim who stated that Ferante had assaulted him and then fled.
Authorities say a search of the home yielded a sawed-off shotgun that was determined to belong to Ferante.

Ferante has been held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since his arrest in September 2021.
His plea calls for a five-year state prison sentence with parole ineligibility of three-and-a-half years for the sawed-off shotgun. He will also serve a concurrent three-year sentence in state prison on the third-degree aggravated assault charge.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 11th.
